MEET THE MAKER – SENSE-ABLE PLAY

Who makes up your family?

My husband, Lionel. We’ve been happily married for 7 amazing years! We have two gorgeous lambs, Eli who is 6 years old and Layla-Hope who is 2 years old.

Describe yourself in three words?

Kind, creative, friendly

Tell us about you brand?

We put together baby and toddler stimulation kits/boxes for Moms/Nanny’s to do with their little ones. It encourages intentional one on one time which aids in your baby or toddler’s development focusing on and including their 5 senses from 8 weeks+, their gross motor skills from 6months+ and fine motor skills from 1 year+.

Tell us about the inspiration behind your brand?

Really prayed for an idea, when wanting to start a small business. Being a stay at home mommy who is by qualification and was by profession a teacher, developing and stimulating little ones is in me and was very much developed and encouraged by my principal of my last school I taught at. So I would often give friends ideas on what to do with their little ones. Then one day a very good friend of mine, turned to me and said, “If you put all these ideas into a box I would buy it!” And that was the start of a beautiful new chapter and an answer to my prayers…

The biggest lesson you have learnt being an entrepreneur?

The art of juggling!! But also trying to accept that I am just human (I don’t do too well with mistakes 😉)

Why should one support local?

Because we literally do, do happy dances every time someone buys 🙂 You support and make someone’s personal dream come true! And we all love making people’s dreams come true…

What inspires you to get up each morning?

•Jesus & fulfilling His purpose for my life

•My beloved

•My babies

•My passion for my job

If you could change one thing in the world for your children what would it be?

One thing I wish I could change in the world for my babies, is the way people see people. I wish it could be with love, compassion, grace & equality not judgement!
